After upgrading Confluence to 2.3 - the TOC plugin stopped working - although the TOC plugin itself is enabled. I can see the following in the logs:

ERROR [main] [atlassian.plugin.parsers.XmlDescriptorParser] configurePlugin There were errors loading the plugin 'Table of Contents Macros'. The plugin has been disabled. 2007-01-17 00:22:15,062 WARN [main] [confluence.plugin.descriptor.ListenerModuleDescriptor] getModule Plugin: confluence.extra.calendar:icalRegistra tionListener is using an outdated, deprecated version of the API - EventListener. Inform the plugin author to upgrade. 2007-01-17 00:22:20,457 WARN [main] [confluence.plugin.descriptor.ListenerModuleDescriptor] getModule Plugin: org.randombits.confluence.autowatch:au towatchListener is using an outdated, deprecated version of the API - EventListener. Inform the plugin author to upgrade.

And a warning that the Utilities plugin was not loaded (I didn't use the web interface, I placed the JAR file in the directory as per the instructions...).

Do I only have this problem because I did something wrong, or is the Utilities Plugin not compatible with Confluence 2.3? I will be happy to assist debugging further, if I knew how

Yes, unfortunately it seems that Utilities 2.1.3 is incompatible with Confluence 2.3. There will be 2.3-compatible versions of most plugins coming out in the not-too-distant future, however it probably won't be for a week or two, unfortunately, due to the fact I simply have no time to fix them right at the moment...
