Confluence Extension: Scaffolding Plugin

Detect if any scaffolding data has changed when editing.

 Description  « Hide
Currently, there is no detection of whether or not any of the data on the page has changed. Detecting this (as much as is possible at least) would be most useful, both for prompting the user when they click away from the page and for skipping saves when no data has changed.

This has been partially implemented on the server-side. The MetadataStorage instance will track whether data set to it has changed, and this can be used to determine whether or not to save the page. No warning is given in the browser when navigating a way yet, however.

I believe this is related to behavior we are experiencing:
when data is added to a page via scaffolding input, no notification of the change is generated via daily email or RSS, even if one is Watching a page.

This seems like kind of a major issue for any space using scaffolding, since the sort of structured information entered using scaffolding is likely the sort of update of which one would want to be notified.

1- Am I missing something?
2- Is there any workaround?
3- Is there any chance of this being addressed in an upcoming release?

Thanks for a great plugin.

Hi Jim,

This issue is referring to something separate. You should be getting email notifications (and RSS) when editing a page with a Scaffold on it. Could you raise a separate issue with details of what Confluence version, Plugin version, etc, you are using? Thanks

David

Was there any follow up to the information from Jim Hanna regarding not getting email notifications when editing a page with a scaffold on it? We have noted the same thing in our implementation.

Hi Ken,

To my knowledge Jim never raised a new issue. Could you do so with the details I requested so that it doesn't slip through the cracks?
